About Rhubarb Radio

We are local radio for the Wakefield District — for Wakefield, the Five Towns, Dewsbury and Batley, and everywhere in between.

The Wakefield District is a city and a scattering of towns and villages around it: Castleford, Pontefract, Normanton, Featherstone, Knottingley, Ossett, Horbury and Hemsworth. Around 350,000 people live here, and it is a district with its own accent, its own market days and its own football arguments — not a suburb of anywhere else.

That is who we play to. Our presenters are from here, our news is about here, and the events we talk about are ones you can get to on a bus. We reach around 167,000 people, and you will also hear us playing out in the Ridings Shopping Centre in Wakefield.
